2.3 Babbitt Bearing Alloys
Babbitt Bearing Alloys are the most popular alloys in use today. Grades 1, 2, 3 and 11 are cast in a 3/4″ x 1.5″ x 4″ ingot and weigh approximately 1 pound. The other grades of Babbitt alloys are cast into bar shaped ingots that are approximately 8-3/4″ x 1″ x 2″ and weigh anywhere from 3.5 to 5 pounds (exact weight depends on the alloy). These alloys can also be used to cast into Plaster of Paris, sand, and rubber molds, or spin casting.

Our Zinc Anodes are made to the current MIL-A-18001K spec (aka ASTM B-418 Type 1), while our Aluminum Anodes conform to the current MIL-A-24779 spec. In addition to stock Hull Anodes, we also can make anodes in other sizes or with different alloys. Aluminum anodes have a 2-3 week lead time.
